What is an Anesthesiologist?
An anesthesiologist specializes in pain relief and patient care before, during, and after surgery. As an anesthesiologist, you make sure a patient gets through surgery safely and comfortably. That means making sure the patient stays asleep throughout the operation and gets enough oxygen. Anesthesiologists watch breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, and after surgery, attend to any pain.
Anesthesiologists are amongst the highest paid doctors, often earning more than $200,000 per year. But they have a lot of responsibility.
