Personal information the Fun Works collects

There are different varieties of registered users within the Fun Works system. As users gain higher levels of access to the Fun Works collection description system, more personal information is required. Registered guests to the Fun Works system are required to provide an e-mail address and a full name, while registered contributors and reviewers need to provide mailing address, phone and fax numbers, and affiliated institution name and position. Contributors and reviewers also need to select which types or subject areas of resources they are interested in reviewing or contributing.

The Fun Works does not sell or share your personal information with anyone outside of EDC and the Fun Works and subcontractors, unless required by law. If at anytime you want to withdraw personal information from our database, please contact funworks@edc.org.

The Fun Works provides several opportunities for all users to contact us through e-mail or Web-based forms. We use the personal information you provide only as it relates to answering your question. Aggregate records of how many people contact us per month are kept; however, individual information is not kept in this form nor shared in any reporting process.

The Fun Works links to hundreds of other Web sites; we are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those Web sites. Please see our disclaimer above for additional information.

The Fun Works will soon offer community areas on our site. Please be aware that any information you disclose in these areas becomes public information; use caution when disclosing personal information in public areas on any Web site.

The user grants the Fun Works or its affiliates the right to use the name (if any) that the user submits in connection with such contribution, if the user so chooses. In the case where attribution is made to the contributor of original material (e.g., reviews, messages on listservs/e-mail groups, and other comments), the Fun Works will not alter such content. However, contributed metadata (resource descriptions, subjects, resource types, etc.) may be changed to enhance resource description and discovery.

To the best of the user's knowledge, use of the contribution by the Fun Works does not violate any intellectual property rights and will not cause injury to any person or entity. The Fun Works has the right, but not the obligation, to monitor and edit or remove any activity or contribution. The Fun Works takes no responsibility and assumes no liability for any contribution made by the user or a third party.
